For viola d'amore.

Everything, All at Once
The title resists translation — and that is part of the point. During the compositional process, many names were considered, each one capturing something of the idea without quite capturing it all. In the end (omnes) — Latin for "all", "everyone", "everything" — was chosen precisely because it contains all the discarded titles within it. The parentheses hold them there, implicitly.
The musical idea is equally direct: the piece moves through the entire range of the viola d'amore, from the lowest register upward toward the extreme high. When the instrument's possibilities are exhausted — when there is nowhere left to go — the body of the violist takes over, feet striking the floor. The music continues beyond the instrument itself.
The work received its premiere on 19 October 2013, performed by Marco Fusi (viola d'amore) at the Mondi Sonori XVI edition, concert Ultime Generazioni II, Auditorium di Musica F.A. Bonporti, Trento.
